Biographical Information

Mary McKenzie is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  She teaches Introduction to Sociology, Criminology, Deviant Behavior, and a class in the Liberal Studies department called Film and Society, which looks at how film portrays deviance, crime, and the legal system, most semesters and has previously taught Social Problems and Marriage and Family.  She received her B.A. and M.S. from North Carolina State University and is currently working on her Ph.D. at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.  Her primary areas of interest are criminology and deviant behavior.
