          This website was created after the observation that many Southeast Asian refugees in Greensboro were not using the local health care provided.  It discuses the Asian beliefs concerning pain and what they view as the causes of disease (ex. the imbalance between yin and yang).  The website mentions there is an unfamiliarity with Western medicine and why there is a distrust of western medicine.  There is also a section about how healthcare workers can negatively impact Asian patients.

It is considered to be the oldest and most widely used system of medicine.  This website contains a brief history of acupuncture.  It lists and describes the way an acupuncturist diagnoses problems stating that all treatments have the goal of restoring the yin/yang balance.  Other medical beliefs are discussed as well as alternatives to acupuncture (ex. Acupressure).
