1. Roxie: born November 1998. Rescued from a neglect situation. She is timid but learning to trust. She is housetrained and loves to have her head rubbed. She is a dobe-leaner. She has jumped the fence once. She must have a six foot fenced-in yard.

2. Sydney: born November 1998. Rescued from a neglect situation. Sister of Roxie. She has decided she is a house dog and proud of it. Reclining is her best position. She loves to be petted. She gets along great with the rest of the bunch.

[Editor's note.  Just prior to getting this message from Susan Chapin, I had a phone call from a shelter in Lexington, S.C. about another little one year old female.  I notified Susan.  Bless her, she said she would try to pick up this dog as well.  All I know about the dog is that she has a very nice temperament and is healthy. -- more later. ..........See the update below!]

.
[Susan also has} a dalmation and a retriever mix that she is fostering, Although she would like to place them together, she will place them separately in homes that have other dogs.  She believes that they would be very lonely as only dogs.  These dogs are very fond of each other, but really need permanent homes.

Boomer - 2yr. blk/tan male, ear crop standing, docked, about 70lbs. Boomer is an owner turn-in who moved away and could not take him. He has not done well with his seperation from his family and shows potentials of being a fear bitter if pushed. However he loves to play ball, go for car rides and walks.

He would be best placed with someone with dobe knowldge. He seems to be a one person dog likes some dogs and hates others, No Cats or Children.

Boomer can be difficult if placed in the wrong environment.

Kairos - Approx. 1yr. red male , ear crop not standing, docked, about 70lbs. Kairos is a wonderfully happy dobie, he was rescued from the pound and bone thin. He loves people and Most other dogs, no cats . He is crate trained, loves to play ball, and just do whatever you are doing. He can be destructive in the house if not supervised and is doing well on learning his manners.

Danco - 2yr. red male , ear crop standing, docked, and very over wieght should be about 95lbs after his diet. Danco is soooo sweet. He likes to rest his head on you for attention, very laid back , good with dogs, children, cats are ok .

Also all dogs are spay/neutered, vax, heartworm prev. basic obedience and CGC tested when time allows.

Listed 5/15/1999 (I haven't heard any updates on this dog as of 6/2/1999 - J.)

[She is 14! She would only need a home for a little while. I would take her myself, but I have 16 dogs already, six of them nearly as old as she is. I hope someone can help. Judith ]

Elder Dobe in SC needs home

Date: Tue, 11 May 1999

I think that this may have been posted before. I am going to repost again, in the hopes that someone can help find this sweet girl a home. She is not being given up bc she is not loved, but bc she is being abused by the other dogs in the house, and she needs to be somewhere safe. Please email Jeff Dowden at <JDOWDEN@mail.mcg.edu.

Thanks Stephanie

Description:

Morgan is a 14 year old (not sure of b-day, but is sometime in the summer), red Doberman. Between 24 and 26 inches at the withers, and weighing somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 pounds. Because of her age, she has had a couple of accidents in our house. I think mostly because all of our other dogs can hold it a lot longer than her, we just weren't quick enough.

She has not been spayed, and more than likely, surgery of that nature would kill her for sure at her age. She has most of her teeth still (though quite a few are broken an worn), and eats solid dog food only. Tina and I have had her since November and have seen all of her bad habits. She likes to get in the trash, whether there is food or just paper.

I think it's a habit she formed while trying to survive with her previous owner. So, trash cans in the house must be put away. Dog food cannot be left out, otherwise it will disappear rather quickly.

Morgan does eat quite a bit, even more than my Redbone. She has never shown any aggression towards any of my ten hounds, including the pain in the butt Little Bear (my dachshund mix). It is no longer safe for her to be with my other dogs. I would not trust Morgan with any pets other than those of the canine persuasion.

I do let her out with a couple of my Beagles from time to time. She especially likes Bunny, but Bunny won't give her a second look.

Actually, it's quite funny watching this big lanky Dobe trying to get a 23 pound Beagle to play with her. Needless to say, Morgan gets around very well for a dog of her age and size
