Blogs:  A new form of Virtual Community?

This page contains information about research conducted on The Julie/Julia Project

The preliminary results from this project are now available.  Additionally, the results from this project have been written up in Blogs as Virtual Communities:  Identifying a Sense of Community for "Into the Blogosphere:  Rhetoric, Community, and Culture" .  I will be writing up a final report to be published in peer reviewed journal in the next 6 months.

Thank you!  Thank you! Thank you! to those people who took time to respond to the survey and answer questions.  The information your provided me is amazingly rich and complex.  I believe it is going to give researchers a great deal of insight into the growing blog world.

A special thanks to Julie Powell for letting me have access to survey her blog readers.  If I hadn't stumbled upon the Julie/Julia project and grown to love it myself, I would not have all this exciting data in front of me now. Thanks, Julie, for sharing your experiences with academia!

If you have any questions or comments about this research, please do not hesitate to contact me (Anita Blanchard) at alblanch@email.uncc.edu
